I remembered the time when I was still in http://www.habbo.com.sg (A virtual community) where I grew quite profilic and even wrote a weekly column called "Habbo and the City" (which, all of us gay men know, is basically a Sex and the City ripoff) for an official fan site. Well, the thing is, I enjoyed my short time there and actually found out that I love churning out stories every single week (please also note that within 2 months, my passion of writing stories came to an abrupt end when I just can't find enough inspiration to continue.) Ok, so last night I was walking down memory lane and decided to showcase one of my articles for you guys to read. I took the liberty to make this article more gay-friendly by changing the names of the 2 lovers into two male names. Well...See how good I am to you all! C'mon, gimme some nice hugs and kisses!

"I am not good enough for you Jun Hao..." Markus sniffed as he averted his gaze from his boyfriend, "I don't think we should see each other anymore..."

"But I love you Mark. Will you not give this relationship another chance?" Jun Hao replied as he gently placed his hands on him.

"I am sorry Jun Hao, I...I don't know...I am sorry..." Choked up and unable to hold his tears any longer, Markus pushed Jun Hao's hands away and dashed out from the restaurant where he merged with the crowd in a busy shopping mall.

Being in my twenties and having experienced many trials and tribulations of love and relationships (from both myself and from friends around me), I can say that this situation is pretty much evident in many of today's teens and adults. I have many friends who broke up the way Jun Hao and Markus did. That is why I must address this issue before it gets way out of hand.

Sometimes, we all feel inferior. Sometimes we all lack the confidence to face the big big world out there. Sometimes we, like Markus, feel that we are not worthy of having someone to love and hold us. This is a common feeling we all share. This is something we must stand up to, look it right in the face, and conquer it. Look at yourself in the mirror. Do not allow any negative thoughts run through your mind. Yes, everyone has flaws and weaknesses but focus on the positive side of it. Do you have a pair of sparkling eyes? Do you have leadership qualities? Are you blessed with a smooth complexion? Are you meticulous? Do you have that cute button nose or that full luscious lips people love to kiss? The most important step to ridding yourself of inferiority complex is to love yourself. Explore your body and soul. Touch yourself and open your heart. You will be surprised at how many good qualities you possess.

People will bring you down no matter what. Such is the way of this vicious world. Learn to take constructive criticisms and block out any unnecessary snide remarks from unnecessary friends. Life is too short to be so self absorbed in our short-comings. Spend quality time with your close friends whom you really trust and simply enjoy the company. Sooner or later, without you knowing it, your self confidence will have been boosted and you are ready to face the world.

Later that night, Markus cuddled his tear-soaked pillow as memories of his happy times with Jun Hao flashed past his mind. How could he be so selfish to have acted the way he did? How could he have thought only of himself when Jun Hao's happiness depended on that decision he had made? Markus reached for his mobile phone, stared at the blank screen and hesitated for a moment. Having filled with guilt and remorse, what more can he say?

He finally gathered the courage to text him, "Forgive me. I love you."

"You know, Markus...You should never have felt that way. I like you the way you are. That is why I courted you in the first place. This whole 'I am not worth it' thing is crap! Remember, when I say I love you, I mean it. Whether you are worthy for me or not, I make that decision. Not you. To me, you mean the world. And you are good enough for me."

Looking into Jun Hao's eyes, Markus placed his hands on around him. They walked out the restaurant after footing the bill and lingered at the sidewalk.

"I love you," Markus whispered, wrapping his arms around Jun Hao, "And you are worth more than anything money can buy."

I would love to be onboard such a humor-filled plane!

I was surfing youtube when I came across this really really funny clip of a pre-flight announcement aboard the Southwest Airlines. Seriously, I think such annoucements should be implemented in more aircrafts. I feel that humor can bring one's nervousness down. One price to pay, however, may be the class or status that the airline holds. Old-fashioned people may think that this is one huge silly joke - not meant to be played on an 'executive' aircraft. Listen to it. I have tried my very best to write the script down. I'm sure there will be mistakes but please pardon me. I can't read accent very well.

Preflight Announcement

We do have seatbelts that aren't as dangerous as they looked. Insert into the flap and lift up the buckle to release. Lift up the buckle. They should be more like J. Lo's...Flowing across the hip...at anytime you are seated. You don't like our service? The flight gets too long? We have 6 emergency exits: 2 forward exit doors, 2 overwind window exits and 2 rear exits doors. Signs overhead, lights on the floor leads towards those exits. In your seats' back pockets, there's a beautifully illustrated multicolored safety information card. You may notice in our cards that in case of a water evacuation, we have hidden under each and every seat in our plane there's a beautiful yellow life-vest. Please only remove that vest when told to do so. To remove it, pull on the right tab on the container under your seat. Open up the container, Take out the pouch, take out the vest, put it over your head. Already you look beautifully fashionable. However, to extend it at your waist, wrap the black strap around and buckle it at your front. Once outside the aircraft, inflate the vest by blowing into the tube at your shoulder or by pulling down at the tab in front. Aircrew barbara coming to the cabin now to check that your seatbelts are fastened and your shoes match your outfit. Your seats are raised to their most uncomfortable - Full upright lock position. All your carry-on items are stuffed, cramped, shoved, pushed...smoshed all the way under the seat infront of you, leaving the area at your feet clear. This is again a non-whining, non-complaining, non-smoking flight. Smoking is never permitted onboard an aircraft. Law prohibits with tampering, disabling or destroying any aircraft lavatories smoke detector. By the way, aviation regulations require passengers' compliance with...and crew member instructions regarding seatbelts and smoking. Although we never anticipate a change in cabin pressure, should one occur, 4 beautiful golden encapsulated buttercup lookalike oxygen masks will magically appear from secret hidden compartments above your head. When that happens, immediately stop screaming, let go of your neighbor. Hold onto one until the plastic tubing is fully extended. Insert a quarter for every minute of oxygen. Although the back of your mask may not inflate, your neighbor's will, both of you will be receiving oxygen. You may secure the mask with the elastic strap. If you're travelling with anyone needing special assistance: Child, Untrained husbands, anyone not paying attention to us right now, make sure you secure your mask first. That's it for the news annoucement. Sit back, relax, or lean forward or twisted up...The choice is really yours. We're gonna be a little bit far, but we're scheduled for a leisurely 3 hours and 50 minutes all the way day to day from here to Chicago midway. Welcome aboard.

The Chipmunks RAWKS big time!

It was in the 1960s when the Chipmunks cartoon first aired on national TV. Guess what? I think the song "Witch Doctor" was first sung in that little film below!

Then, the band that made the song REALLY famous! I remember when I was a kid, my friends and I kept singing to this song. It was techno though. But say...Wasn't that the time when "Macarena" and "Barbie Girl" plus "Lemon Tree" the BIG thing? How time really changed our perspective of music! Below is "Witch Doctor" by The Cartoons!

And then now...Right here in year two thousand and seven! We have the REMAKE of this RETRO song once again! This time, also by the Chipmunks (Do they ever grow old?). And frankly, it sparked my love for this song once again! The Chipmunks RAWKS big time!!!

One is a shared account between work and personal friends/acquaintances (rocknsaint@hotmail.com), and the other is strictly for personal/private friends/acquaintances (mattexhibittan@hotmail.com). The difference will be that I will have more provocative photos as my user display as compared to the account I have for work. In conjunction with my debut film "Crossing Paths"

A very good afternoon everyone. In regards to a film which I will commence shooting sometime next year, after my crew and I have sat down to discuss about our storyboard (part of it has already been done)...I would need someone with musical talents and with the right equipments to live this dream with me, and to cut studio-quality soundtracks for this debut film of mine.

We are a low budget crew and we are looking at a budget of $100 or a little bit more or less (if possible). That is why it would be best if someone with a basic synthesizer connected to a computer, which is able to give us 'real' instrumentations, could lend us his or her sound-proof place to produce a CD of music and ambient sounds.

My crew and I would be eternally grateful to that someone.

Introduce us to a good studio recording company with reasonable rates too! If possible, it would be very kind of you to give us the cost breakdown and how the company charge (per track or by time). One company gave us the quote of 250 SGD - 500 SGD for a full arrangement done by them. However, our budget is rather tight. It would be great if it were cheaper.

Anyone wants to sponser? We will send you the final manuscript once we have settled on something.

I hope this dream becomes a reality.

I was kinda slacking away at work today (it is the lull period now) when I saw our gifted worship leader shayanonline. So I chatted up with him. He told me that I encouraged him to write and record a song of his own. He did it one step better - he wrote a song as a gift back to the Lord God, giving praise as all talents belong to Him. Below is my rendition of his song. I hope I did it justice.

Caleb - My First Experimental Film

My first experimental film

I was out with my friend richspoiltguyand as i was lying down on the rooftop terrace of our humble Esplanade, I used my camera phone - hence the poor video quality - to shoot down this scene of my friend text messaging another person. I find that it gives a very mellow and subdued sad tone. So I came up with a storyline to fit this setting. So here it is. A very simple film about a boy who got dumped by his boyfriend, who found that he would rather lead a heterosexual lifestyle.

The voiceover (done by yours truly) shows what is going on in our protagonist's head. The text apprearing on the screen is what our protagonist types on his mobile phone. If you noticed, the last part of the film is darker than the first This tells us the time it takes for our guy to compose one message. All his emotions to be sent out in one single, powerful message.

Surrealism
Two extreme emotions coming together

Saturday, 29th September 2007. I experienced conflicting emotions - one of excitement and happiness, one of worry and sadness. Yesterday marks the day of my boyfriend's birthday as well as my dad's operation. My dad survived the ordeal, but he will have to face the blinding lights of the theatre again for his second one soon. My boyfriend's birthday gathering went successfully. We went to Harbourfront's Spizza had a few nice salads and pizzas passing round the table. I gave him a bouquet of flowers - consisting of 3 creamy white roses, wispy little baby's breath and some nice purple forget-me-nots. It goes against my stand on flowers, but he likes it. That is all that matters. Wrote him a song and a black card which contains the lyrics and some sweet scribblings. I love him.

Audacity - My new music tool!
Ahhh...I think I am already lovin' this freeware!

Our dearest merman13 introduced me to this nice music editing freeware called "Audacity". And now, I think I am totally in love with it! Haha! This is the first time I am putting up such mundane stuffs on my journal. Maybe because I am getting quite busy with work lately and will hardly have time to update. Or perhaps I think I am getting a little bit lazy. However, not to worry, I think the next song I will be putting up is the full version of this song I am posting up now.

And now...Here is Britney's comeback single "Gimme More". Just a little teaser here. By yours truly.

This is recorded using "Audacity". It is a very very rough test. So please pardon the quality or rather, the lack of it. Hopefully by this weekend, I will be able to program the whole music into my keyboard. Get everything done - voice and editing. And post the full song up! I am kinda excited by it all actually. First time attempting such a genre. DANCE! This is so NOT me! For now, hope you like this teaser!

This song touched me. It really does.

I shed a tear. It has been a long long time since I last allowed myself to tear. This time, a single tear flowed down from my eyes. This song is so symbolical. This song moved me so much, my body just exploded - breaking the tension that held me together. I missed my interpersonal relationship with God. No denying it now. I just missed Him. But I am not going back to church. I just wanna commune with Him in my own personal space.

Amusing or does it hit you at your core?

My gay friend from work sent me this particular link to a christian site. He finds it amusing. Below is one of the cartoons which is featured. Frankly, when I first laid my eyes on it, I was not amused in the least. It pierced me right where I am most sensitive and vulnerable. I do not know what to say. Am I one of the "Ye of little faith"? Perhaps I am. With the different doctrines flying around from different churches and denominations, one can never know what is right and what is wrong anymore.

Apparently, Singnet and Starhub users are unable to access this site. Seems like it is banned by MDA. Good thing for Pacific that they actually fought and won the case to protect their consumers' rights. I hope I got this fact right.

Still Small Voice - Matt's Composition

"Still Small Voice" is a song I wrote which tells you of my struggles, love and denouncement of my faith. It is a song which is very personal to me, though not exactly the nicest vocals and definitely not hit the charts. It is a song that tells God that I still miss Him even though I have long forsaken Him. Memories of childhood and memories of the times we had together. A bittersweet song that I am sure will touch people like me. Am I happy now? I cannot say for sure. But I have a loving boyfriend who trusts and respects me. And nice friends who will stand by me to rebuke me when I strayed, laugh when I am happy and cry when I am depressed. Darn!!!
